Tony explains his reasons for establishing the company here; “The business was a product of the digital revolution, where computer aided design and manufacture revolutionised the sign making industry and created an opportunity for material distribution. The innovations of digital print and suitable inks to give external durability further expanded the opportunities in our industry. The next 25 years will be even more exciting and challenging.” In 2008 Tony stepped down, handing the reigns to Carole Smy who became Managing Director and at the same time Justin Hines became Sales Director. Previously Carole was the Financial Director, she provides strong leadership for the company and a customer focused approach. “I firmly believe in making sure Customers receive the best possible service from start to finish. Our excellent Customer service enables us to maintain the loyalty of our Customers which is very important to me”. Justin always jokes that he has worked at the company as a man and boy! He has worked from apprentice to board level and therefore has a very good understanding of all aspects of the company and industry. “I have been fortunate that over the years I have seen many changes within the company and the industries we work in. We have built up some great relationships to a point that our Customers are considered as friends and not just Customers. I remember just serving the local area with sign making supplies to now on a nationwide basis with a Customer base of over 3000 with 3500 product lines.” Victory Design employes 28 staff in various roles including product sales, accounts, administration, marketing, warehousing and production. Recently Victory Design has been supporting local young people by employing apprentices in different roles, they are also studying for an NVQ qualification. Victory Design was established in 1987 in a small terraced building in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, approximately 6 miles from the current premises, now based in a large converted bus garage allowing much more warehouse space.
